    DH Lawrence(Author)
D.H. Lawrence's picaresque novel telling the story of Aaron Sisson, who flees his married life in America for a bohemian life as a musician in Europe. Traveling to London and Florence with his flute, he engages with intellectuals, artists, lovers, and anarchists.

David Herbert Lawrence (11 September 1885 – 2 March 1930) was an English novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, literary critic and painter. His collected works represent, among other things, an extended reflection upon the dehumanising effects of modernity and industrialisation. Some of the issues Lawrence explores are sexuality, emotional health, vitality, spontaneity, and instinct.

I have read three chapters and cannot get intoit. I will persevere with it and see how I go.

A revealing tale of DHL`s inner drives and theories of humanity - seemed very autobiographical. Some of the characters come across a little long winded at times but this is balanced by typically compelling drama, magical prose and character.

  • By Josie on 31 May 2013

Only D H Lawrence could be so self centred and think that the world should revolve around him. It must be autobiographical.
